Segdewick for example, such a wonderful book, the prose is excellent, the content really is outstanding (probably one of the most comprehensive I own), the editions I have even has a superb typeface and paper quality, unfortunately the C coding style of this book has this effect on me which makes me want to close the book immediately.
This is the book that introduced me to the wonderful world of algorithms, and I love it. The introduction chapter was a revelation and nothing like I had read before. I didn't understand everything in the first read but it made me to want to.
The book is more accessible and practical than Knuth and CLRS, and more thorough than Skiena and such.
Skiena's Algorithm Design Manual and Sedewick/Wayne's Algorithms. Most people do algorithms in school. I learned about it while I was already writing programs for money all day, which means it deeply impacted the way I think about my work.
Algorithms, by Robert Sedgwick (probably not the best algorithms book, but lots of hands-on stuff)
Data Structures and their relationship with each other to be a great technical programmer. These books (just highlight not everything) I would think -> Algorithms Sedgewick, Lisp Programmers Manual, Designing Distributed Systems.
