A really great self-contained story, extremely evocative, and the author actually puts out great books at an amazingly fast pace.
Her Broken Earth series is not only tremendously gripping, original, and epic in scope, but it also does a fantastic job of portraying a world with predominantly non-white characters without being on the nose or ham-handed about it.
If you’ve felt like you’re reading the same fantasy story over and over, I highly recommend giving this one a try.
wow! Really fun to read and it packed an emotional sociopolitical message into an entertaining story with great characters.
Intelligent, conflicted characters and such a superb interplay of geological science fiction.
it has more of a fantasy flavor, but plot/character-wise is amazing.
