I grew up reading them from the late 80's on-wards and I actually can't separate my worldview from them anymore, his outlook on life became my outlook on life.
Sir Terry knew our hearts better than most, and sin, young feller, is treatin’ people as things.
I'm midway through my second reading through the Discworld series. Several years ago I discovered that they were just the right mix of interesting enough to read yet sedate enough to not raise my adrenaline that I could read them and reliably fall asleep within 5-15 minutes of going to bed.
I’d give anything to re-live the sheer ecstasy of reading Pratchett for the first time.
Whenever I feel down, I re-read one of the Witches series - I spot something I never noticed before - an immediate mood-booster!
Don't confuse it for fantasy - it's brilliant satire. Littered with geeky references and clever wordplay, I actually enjoy it a bit more than the Hitchhiker's Guide books.
