An Introduction to Statistical Learning: This is like a diet form of Elements of Statistical Learning which is much more approachable and pragmatic.
Introduction to statistical learning is very readable at that age.
Hastie, Tibshirani & Friedman's The Elements of Statistical Learning and the watered-down and more practical Introduction to Statistical Learning are also nice.
I think both explain statistical ML clearly at just the right level of detail.
