I love Bertrand Russell, and this was a great read. One idea from it really struck me: what kind of an individual spends years trying to prove that 1+1=2 (oversimplification of course). It takes a peculiar type of dedication, curiosity, and perhaps madness to go that deep.

I finally got around to reading Logicomix, a graphic novel about the development of mathematical logic around the first half of the 20th century. It's told as the story of Bertrand Russell and has a theme of wanting to understand the world through logic and madness.
