The particular example that resonated the most with me was the one about Michael Jordan. How I used to remember so many people saying "he was born with that talent" or "it was a gift from God" No the gift was not his talents, it was his work ethic and determination.
Then I read Mindset by Carol Dweck and Everything In Its Place by Dan Charnas that convinced me that a) I was holding myself back by thinking I was a disorganized person and that b) I could become an organized person.
If you have kids or work with people I would highly recommend it!
These three books really changed my viewpoint and I've been rereading them every year.
Mindset, by Carol Dweck. It'll change the way you think about the way you think. Incredibly relevant for justifying your yes-I-can attitude.
I really wish I had read that 10 years ago... By that time the book wasn't published but some part of the science behind it was already available.
The best part about this book is that there's zero marketing around "how to be successful in life" or "what successful people do" or "how to become rich". But it actually describes the real way to achieve those things :)
