Chiang writes only stories, and has written just a few of them, but nearly every one is a gem.
The author has an absolute magic way of taking a kernel of an idea and spinning not only a whole world, but a whole new way of looking at the world – all in the span of a short story.
Ted Chiang is the modern writer that I would identify as the most similar in spirit to Borges.
Ted Chiang's work is the definition of economy in storytelling. Absolutely quality over quantity.
He's not written a full length novel yet but his short stories and novellas are mind blowing, best stuff I're read since early Egan.
Definitely the most thoughtful and inspiring book I've read this year.
