Whatever motivation you have, a) reading a book with great Lisp style or b) learning about the CLOS MOP, the book is highly recommended.
Don't let the second one fool you. Although it is a Lisp book, it presents OOP design principles applicable to any language.
Extremely insightful treatment of OOP! Alan Kay called it as the 'best book in ten years' at OOPSLA 97.
