This would be especially interesting for the HN crowd. It's not sf per se, rather more than contemporary fiction, but the main theme is about programming and politics in a big corporation. Quite original and a lot of fun.
No matter how good your communication/leadership skills are, your team will be severely handicapped if they are working in an inefficient/limiting environment.
In terms of tech I really enjoyed The Unicorn Project. Made me realise how awesome our industry is and how easy you can make your work count.
I enjoyed it immensely because it describes how a big auto parts corporation works from different points of view.
there's also a sequel called The Unicorn Project that is supposedly more focus software development and dev ops.
